Community Engagement

This seems like a very interesting and interactive way for students to learn about QR codes. It is great that this activity can be implemented both independantly or through group work and it seems like it would engage students!
I am wondering with the treasure hunt what websites the students would be linked to? Could you make it an exploratory task which is integrated with another subject?
Thanks for writing this interesting blog!

Thanks Viviena for the interesting article on 3D printing and the information which you provided. It is good to see how it can be used from an educational perspective and seems like a great way that teachers and students can be co-collaborators of creative design. I like how you also pointed out specific programs which make it easy for educators to access!

Hi Maddie, you have written a very interesting article on the use of bee-bots in the classroom to provide rich and authentic learning opportunities. I have never heard about having four roles of people in the group to perform certain tasks, that is a great way to promote active engagement and teamwork.

Dajana, you have explained AR is a technology where users are immersed into a complex, realistic experience. I didn’t realise that AR had so many potentials in the classroom to allow students to think critically. You have listed many good examples of augmented reality in many subjects and they all seem like really interesting activities for students to participate in. Thanks!

Augmented Reality

Catherine, you have stated many of the great affordances of Augmented reality and how they can be used within the classroom. I especially like your recommendation about creating a scenario and having students involved in creating characters which solve the problem. As well as this, your definition of AR and examples have been very helpful for me in understanding what it is.

Games and Learning

Amanda, I love your blog posts on the effectiveness on games for student learning, which challenges the misconception that when playing games students are not learning anything. Your ideas for how to implement Scratch in a classroom context such as to reinforce narrative writing seems to be a great way to engage and motivate students!

Thank you for writing such an interesting article on the use of dash and dot within the classroom. Dash and dot seems like they could be used across the curriculum, as you mentioned their affordances for music, maths and most interesting, your idea for stage 6 history.
